How to Keep the Pollen Off Your Screened Porch & Patio
Porch Enclosure Systems is the best solution keeping Pollen & Dust off your outdoor space. In the Spring when the pollen count is high PES will block over 99% of pollen from entering your porch. Our Pollen Proof Enclosures utilize a track and zipper system that allows you to block off pollen and dust from porch screens, furniture and cushions. Our Porch Enclosure Systems are both stain and mildew resistant allowing you to simply rinse off exterior pollen build-up with a garden hose.
Our enclosures roll-up and down easily using a nylon pull chord that can be tied off (cleated) in any position from fully opened to closed. When your vinyl porch curtains are rolled partially or completely down you simply secure your the vertical sides of each panel. As seasonal pollen levels subside you can begin opening your porch. Start by leaving windward facing panels down, as shown below.
“We lived on the water in the woods and we had a screened porch in our last house, but we never used it because it was filthy dirty all the time because of all the pollen,” says homeowner Laura Gourley of Kent Island, Maryland (two photos above).
“We’d say, let’s have dinner there tonight, and then I’d have to go out and spend a half hour cleaning before we ate, so it became a space that we didn’t really use.”
Now that she has an enclosure in their new home, a cleaner porch year round means less work for her, and more time enjoying the benefits of her outdoor living space.
“If you want to have a porch where you can hose everything down, great. But I love to have the cushions and the comforts of fabric and pillows. the PES product is great because I went out and everything was clean. I didn’t have to consider wiping anything down,” Gourley says. Read full interview & more photos.
The enclosure is the perfect compliment to this newly built home, extending the seasonal use of the porch and keeping it clean and dry.
No straps are required to straighten and smooth out your curtains since each panel uses the latest high tech glass and vinyl materials. Our enclosures show shrinkage and expansion of less than 1% from changing summer and winter temperatures as well as from year to year. Most clear vinyl products can see shrinkage an expansion levels of 6-7%, along with changes in shape over time! Our panels are also resistant to staining, mildew, yellowing, extreme cold, heavy wind and cracking.
This Atlantic Ocean front home (above) uses their PES to block salt spray, heavy wind and weather. Our team understands how to build enclosures that protects your space from the elements.
