Everything came out perfect. However, I was confused by the labelling on the parts (see photo). I was able to figure it out by looking at the one that was labeled correctly. I did not install the curtains until the weather warmed up above 40 degrees, and I was concerned even then. Note the second picture where there are wrinkles in the clear vinyl. They seem to be smoothing out, but still are not perfectly smooth. I do hope that as the weather warms, the wrinkles will completely disappear.
My fixed curtain is perfect. If I could do it over again, I would have asked that the 3 remaining curtains have clear bottom panels as well, but the expense was just a bit too much. The last two photos are taken from the interior, where I have already laid down rugs and furniture.
There are still gaps from the floor, and around the top of the curtains that allow a lot of air in, but I notice that inside the balcony, it is at least 4-8 degrees warmer than outside. The temperature was so dramatic, that I recalibrated to confirm the difference. I am betting that if I lay a few more rugs and close the air gaps, it could even be warmer.
A few things that would have made this neater: one) use flat headed screws just for cosmetic’s sake, two) offer strips of the canvas that could be used to cover that aluminum guides, and three) offer instructions/cleaning materials on keeping the clear portion clean.
Otherwise, I am very happy with the curtains. I see now why you wanted the measurements to be so precise. Shortly after being installed, we had a 25 mph snowstorm. The only place I had snow in the balcony was where I had not covered the floor with a rug. Considering the temperature difference, I am looking forward to sitting outside on my balcony even though the temperature outside would have made in uncomfortable without the curtains.
Thank You.
