Roll-Up Curtain Overview

Components Explained

1.  Attractive Colors &  Fabric

Acrylic-coated 100% woven polyester fabric (600 denier) utilizing a proprietary process to coat both the top and bottom, thus allowing the fabric to be completely reversible. It is characterized by excellent strength, durability, tear and abrasion resistance, dimensional stability, UV and mildew resistance. This fabric was originally developed to cover military vehicles in the desert, so you can be sure it will protect your porch.

2. Keder Top Track

Our low profile top track is available in white PVC and polished aluminum. Predrilled holes and self-tapping screws make installing your curtain easy. Once installed, most customers choose to keep their curtains up year-round; when rolled up in summer, they completely disappear but can be deployed in the event of thunderstorms. You can also easily remove them by loosening the stainless screws at the ends of the top track and sliding the curtain out to the left or right. Optional marine-quality storage bags are also available.

3. Marine Grade Pulleys

Your enclosed porch will be warmer, dryer and cleaner making it useful year round! Our marine-grade pulley system makes the roll-up process a breeze. Open and close your porch in minutes. No need to winterize your porch or bring in furniture, pillows and cushions for the season. You can also protect your furnishings from summer rain by dropping the roll-up porch curtains at a moment’s notice. Enjoy your screened porch longer, and spend more time outdoors with Porch Enclosure Systems.

4. Low Profile Fasteners

Ingenious self-locking fastening solution prevents unintentional opening of your porch curtains. Superior to old-school snaps in every way, the perfectly designed stainless steel spring-loaded button fits snugly around the standardized ball head of its screw-in base (see #6 below). These fasteners clip on in one clean motion like a snap, but without the worry that they will come loose. The smart mechanism will not open unless the cap of the upper part is lifted, which is easily done by hand. See low-profile fastener in action.

5. Press Polished Sheet Glass

Our Press Polished Vinyl Sheet Glass provides glass-like clarity and long-lasting durability. Manufactured of thermoplastic vinyl material with a highly polished finish to form a flexible, press polished sheet that is sewable and solvent bondable, stores easily and will not break or crack when folded. Our innovative material has thermal expansion properties and clarity superior to other rolled vinyl glass products.

6. Bottom Fastener

The same as the other curtain fasteners, but ideally located just above the weighted roll bar to keep your curtain securely in place in heavy wind, so no floor or bottom fasteners are necessary on your porch curtains. Also pictured is the low profile fastening screw that attaches to your porch or patio (see #4 above).  So low-profile you will barely recognize they are there when your curtains are rolled up.

7. Tie-Off Cleat

Reminiscent of the cleats on high-end  yachts, we provide these cleats at strategic locations so you can easily roll up and tie-off your porch enclosure system. The difference is in the details. Keep your porch looking neat with our quality stainless tie-off cleat.

8. Weighted Roll Bar

Our weighted roll bar adds rigidity to your curtains, renders floor attachments unnecessary and makes rolling your enclosure up and out of the way easy. The roll bar is made of galvanized steel, has PVC end caps and is cleanly stitched into the base of your curtains.
